The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan (BAPS) Temple in Kolkata is a Hindu Mandir, which is most popular among the BAPS community. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Kolkata is a Hindu temple of the Swaminarayan Sansthan of the Swaminarayan sect in Gujarat. The temple was opened to the public with formal worship in 2014. It is believed that Lord Swaminarayan (1781–1830) once passed through this place in the form of Neelkantha Varni on his way to Kapilmuni’s ashram, a Hindu pilgrimage site on Sagar Island in the Bay of Bengal.

BAPS Swaminathan Temple of Kolkata is the prominent temple and branch of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sansthan. It is located on Diamond Harbour Rd, Dist. 24 Parganas (South), Kolkata India. This temple was consecrated and opened to the public in the year 2014. History states that Lord Swaminarayan (Nilkanth Varni) had passed through this land to visit Ganga Sagar (Sagar Island) in the Bay of Bengal. BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Temple was conceived by HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the then spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha many years ago. His construction and completion of the project have been a unique journey.
A large number of devotees came to the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple for Murti Darshan, Pooja, Bhog, Aarti, and offering pujas. - Dress Code => Please note that a strict dress code operates within the complex. Specifically, tops must cover the shoulders, chest, navel, and upper arms. Legwear must be at least below knee length.
- Shoes => Visitors have to remove their shoes at the entrance of the temple.
- Photography and Videography => Photography and Videography are completely prohibited at the Temple. This action is only allowed for special occasions and is done by the press and media of the temple.
- Mobile Phone => It is mandatory that visitors put phones on silent mode. The use of Mobile Phones is strictly prohibited at the Temple.
- Smoking => Smoking is not allowed in the temple area including Parking. So, dispose of the cigarette before entering the temple.
