Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is a prominent Hindu Temple in Ambalappuzha of Kerala State. It is also one of the most famous and oldest temples in Kerala. The unique history and spiritual legends are reflected form the Temple. This temple is dedicated to Krishna. Most visitors are the devotees of Krishna. Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple Darshan
As we have mentioned above Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple is situated at the Alappuzha district of Kerala. This temple was built during the 15th – 17th CE by Pooradam Thirunal Devanarayanan Thampuran, ruler of the erstwhile Chembakassery kingdom. The Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple is one of the seven great Vaishnava temples in Kerala. This holy shrine’s significance is that Lord Vishnu the presiding deity appears here in the guise of Parthasarathy, the charioteer of Arjuna from the epic Mahabharata.
This temple constriction is done in the Kerala style of architecture and is noted for its Chuttambalam (building constructed around the sanctum sanctorum) which is adorned with beautiful wall paintings. The main offering at this temple is delicious sweet milk porridge, popularly known as Ambalappuzha Palpayasam. Many devotees come here across India.
