The Sammakka Saralamma Srine area in Warangal is reported to have been built during the 12th century. This temple has no mythological background relating to the construction of the temple; instead, it is believed to be built in the memory of two tribal women. The temple is based on the traditional beliefs of the Medaram Tribal community.

The Sammakka Saralamma Jatara (Festival) is one of the famous tribal festivals of Telngana, which is celebrated in the Medaram Village of Telngana. In the remembering of the Sammakka Saralamma, both mother and daughter, tribal people celebrated this festival every year. It is held to offer tributes to the brave mother-daughter warriors.
