The temple is famous for the deity Shaniswar, who is considered the god of karma, justice, and retribution, and delivers results depending upon one’s thoughts, speech, and deeds. Mandapalli Shaniswara Swamy Temple is a bit different from other temples.  Although originally a temple of Lord Someswara, it is popularly known as Shaniswara Temple due to the dedication of Lord Shaniswara. The special Pujas are performed to Lord Mandeshwar during the month of Shravan and on the days of Shanitrayodashi manually. At the temple, people made Abhishekam to Lord Shaniswar through oil. Shani Trayodashi or Sani Trayodasi is an auspicious day to perform Shani Puja. It falls on Saturday which coincides with Trayodasi or the 13th day in a fortnight of the the Hindu month. There is a total of three Sanitrayodasi in 2023. At the Mandapalli Temple Santirayodasi is a famous festival celebrated there.
