Attukal Bhagavathy has a history where she is supposed to be the most divinized form of Kannaki (Chilapathikaram’s heroin). If you are planning to visit this temple then you can visit Pongala Mahotsavam. This is the most important celebration that has been celebrated in Attukal Bhagavathy. Pongala is a special practice where a 10-day program is organized in February and March month. 9th day is special for this festival where all people congregate around 5 kilometers of the temple. Most women appear in this festival and complete the rituals.
