About Jageshwar Temple
Let us tell you that Jageshwar Temple is the most famous Hindu temple located in the state of Uttarakhand. This temple is also famous with the name of the “Jageshwar Dham Group of Temples” because there are over 100 Hindu temples built between the 7th and 12th centuries near Almora in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Right now this temple is popular for becoming the largest of the 124 temples in Uttarakhand. Every day thousands of devotees and tourists explore this beautiful temple for the Darshan of God. Built-in the ninth century, the Jageshwar temple is located in the Jataganga valley.
While Lord Vishnu, Goddess Shakti, and numerous other Hindu deities are honored in other neighboring temples, Lord Shiva is the subject of the majority of the temples in Jageshwar. The Jageshwar Dham Temple groups date back approximately 2,500 years, having been constructed between the early Katyuri dynasty (8th century) and the Chand dynasty (18th century). Shalivahandeva, the Katyuri king, renovated these temples. An inscription of Malla kings demonstrates their adoration for Jageshwar here in the temple’s main complex.
