Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple is one of the prominent temples in Southern India. The temple is located in Amaravathi town of Palnadu district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Shri Amareswara Swamy or Amaralingeswara, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Thousand of devotees visit this temple, every day. Let us tell you that ‘Amararama’ is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras that are sacred to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple is situated on the southern bank of the Krishna River. The Temple is also known as the Shri Amareswara Swamy Temple or Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple. It is one of the most visited temples in Andhra Pradesh. The Sivalinga at this place was installed and established by Lord Indra. The deity Bala Chamundika in the temple is the consort of the Lord Amareswara Swamy.
Amaralingeswaea Swamy Temple was built under the Dravidian architecture. The establishment of the temple is not defined. However, according to the sources, it is one of the most ancient temples. The devotees performed various types of puja, rituals & offerings at the Temple. Abhishekam is the most attractive activity at the Shri Amareswara Swamy Temple. There are lots of festivals celebrated at the temple, in which Maha Shivaratri & Kartika Purnima.
